Get Involved with the Southern Tier Kidney Association!

Listed below are only a few examples of the many things that the Association has done for our unit. Please consider attending a meeting to support our efforts – they meet the 2nd Tuesday of every month at 4 pm in classroom 4 at WCA – all are welcome. Also, please remember that the Association continues to collect pop can tabs, donations and ideas!


Purchased televisions for the dialysis unit
Paid for a patient's family to travel to Pittsburgh to be with him for his transplant when the family did not have the finances to pay for the expenses
deco Purchased hand held games and magazines for the unit
deco Sponsors our annual family picnic and Christmas Party for the patients, their families along with our staff and their families
deco Purchased catheter belts for the Peritoneal patients
deco Paid the taxi fee for a patient to travel to Buffalo General in the middle of the night when the transplant unit called him for a transplant

deco Paid fees for patients to see an insurance specialist
deco Helped to raise the money to purchase a Reverse Osmosis Water Machine to utilize for dialysis patients who are admitted into the Special Care Unit for their treatments
deco Purchased a laptop computer for Dr. Hsu and Dr. Cannone to use so that they can have your information at hand to better serve you
deco Paid for the Liquacel that some of you are currently consuming on dialysis days to increase your albumin levels
